Oates Park School, designed by famous Nevada architect Frederick DeLongchamps, was built in 1914 and served the community until 1954 when a major earthquake struck the area. Near Dixie Valley. Eventually, the earthquake left Oates Park School condemned and the school closed—that is, until 1986, when the Churchill Arts Council raised $10 million to restore it to its current state.

Renovations began in the 1990s and, by 2003, there were three galleries, a 350-seat movie theater, and an old-west-meets-urban-cafe-style bar. There are no amenities for Fallon other than Oats Park, but the school is located in a thoughtful and accessible way for people around the community.
