Dui Military - Whether you are a civilian or not, getting a DUI is still possible on a military base. There are a large number of military bases in California and getting a DUI at one of them happens quite often.

When on base, any civilian who comes onto the base is under federal jurisdiction. This applies to all military bases, regardless of your country of origin. If a DUI is committed by a civilian on a military base, it is considered a federal offense. This is a federal offense under the Code of Federal Regulations. Because of this category, it is not something local superior courts in California look at. Many foundations have a "zero tolerance" approach to civilians driving under the influence. Civilians convicted of DUI while visiting a military base are eligible for the same rights and protections in federal court as the California Supreme Court.

These consequences can include imprisonment, large fines and license suspension for up to 1 year. In the year April 10, 2019 Warhorse and foreign soldiers from the 4th Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment received 90-day and 180-day DUI-free streams for the unit's local DUI-free Saber program.

The Saber No DUI program provides support to soldiers if they find themselves in a state of intoxication and need a plan to get home safely. Sometimes plans fail, and soldiers run out of options.

However, one thing everyone can agree on is that drinking and driving should not be one of those options. If a soldier's primary, alternate and emergency plan is no longer viable and they are unsure of their emergency plan, the Saber No DUI program is available to assist them.

Military Dui: Faq's For Active Duty Soldiers Who Face A Dui Charge

Every weekend, program volunteers make calls to help their peers. If they receive a call, one volunteer is sent to pick up the soldier and another volunteer drives the soldier home. The program always keeps the soldier's identity anonymous, and volunteers are never solicited or paid for program hikes.

The Saber Squadron is known for its camaraderie and has many volunteers who want to help as many soldiers as possible in the unit. Although similar to other department's DUI-free programs, the importance of their voluntary numbers is what sets the department's programs apart from others.

"We're not asking for anything in return; we're doing it out of the kindness of our hearts," said Staff Sgt. Logan Hope, fire support NCO at the Sablian Squadron and volunteer representative of the Warhorse Troop. "We don't want to see anyone ruin their lives in situations that could have been easily prevented."

The United States of America prioritizes the safety of our troops as well as the public safety of our host nation, Germany. Whether it's a sexual harassment and assault prevention program or a DUI-free program, volunteers are ready to do whatever it takes to address these issues head-on.

After starting the program a year ago, Command Sgt. Major. At 4/2 Senior Advisor Thomas Yaudas was very happy with the results.

"Every soldier we lose with a DUI has an immediate impact on our formation," Yaudas said. "Sabre's No DUI initiative combats this preventable loss; all it takes is a phone call."

With current projections, Warhorse and Outlaw Troops, through use of the program, appear to be on track to be more than 180 days DUI free.
